My eyes are "Kaput" at 80 as well, Norman my friend, I squint so much I think I have Asian eyes where an epicanthic fold is developing, so you guys are not alone with your ongoing age of blindness creeping up on you... lol

DarrellGetting older is a challenge, but it is way better than the alternative.Get checked for cataracs, do stronger glasses, and carry on.I am ten years younger, and up to my bum in physical work, trying to keep three barns up, and useful.I am just taking delivery of a load of lodge pole pine timbers 20 feet long for new rafters for the big barn roof, which is 35 feet in the air. It is a good thing I am an experienced big ship sailor, and hope my rigging skills are up to the task of popping these suckers up to the top of my barn. I have to think of them as small masts, and booms.8"x8"x20', and6"x6"x20', then, they are not so scary.
I used one of my special effects air cannons to fire a plastic pipe cap up to the peak of the roof , inside the barn, over the hoist track that was suspended a few inches below the peak.I got a fish line through that gap from the ground and was able to hoist a braided yacht line up, and over the rail.There is an antique cast iron hoisting machine up there, with no rope, that can travel the length of the barn, on that track.I am going up in my bos'un's chair after hoisting a four part purchase, to see what codition the hoist is in, and re-rig it, ready to go, after inspection, and refurbishing it.In Dec of 2015, I was in that catastrophic horse accident, breaking so many bones, that I was told by the respitologist studying my x-rays, shaking his head, "Warren, most people don't survive these injuries".It is a testimony of excellent public health care, both in New Zealand, and in Canada, that I have been able to keep at life, doing what I do.Do take time,( and, I guess, in the U.S., money) and sort out your vision issues. It is important.Although there are many unregulated, for profit ,"health providers" in the states, there are also some good people who just want to help others, and have dedicated their lives to this task.Seek those kind of professionals out.Cheers Warren

 I will be 83 this August... just finished making a four cell two volt battery for Matt Jones PDF Tesla switch as the two lower batteries don't charge... it will be an Alum battery as once I hacked the lid off, it was no longer a SLA battery.
