Bert Harju is the inventor of the Frictional Heater. He used a 22 watt/3000 rpm motor that turned a rod inside a pipe. He used two different metals for the rod and the pipe. It made heat slowly, but after half hour. It got so hot that you got burned if you touched the pipe.

Bert Harju claimed a COP=10. Of course the invention does not last long because of the destruction of the metals by the friction. But you can build the Frictional Heater by using a minimal distance between the rod and pipe and inmerse the rod/pipe in water or oil. The COP will be less than 10.
