I've been in the electrical trade for 64 years and those wires are too small to carry 90 amps and they would be flat out trying to carry 30 amps, so I didn't watch all the video.

Hi Warren, "By upping the voltage one can carry higher amperage at high frequency." The wires still heat according to the amount of current going through them. It doesn't matter if the voltage between them is high or low or even zero. Only the power transfer is changed by changing the voltage at a given current. The power dissipated as heat in the wire equals the current through it multiplied by the voltage along the wire. This is not the voltage between the wires which doesn't affect the power dissipation. The voltage along the wire is the resistance of the wire multiplied by the current through it. Thus the power dissipation is also given as the current squared multiplied by the resistance of the wire. The person in the video doesn't give much information and the video doesn't show much neither. If he intends to have 90A or perhaps 3 x 30A through the wires the insulation will probably melt of burn. This is exciting and simple experiment... how about the input amps with one motor, with two, with three, etc. and voltage at end of string and rpms of motors too....maybe load that last motor turning a generator see what you get there too... keep ammeter on first motor all the time that is key if that does not rise... ciaoKone

Where in the world have all you guys been? I have seen a lot of work trucks with high powered alternators that had switching circuits installed to enable the output of 120VAC to run power tools on job sites. The circuits switched around the diodes taking them out of circuit which caused the alternator to output AC instead of DC. Yhr trucks had a fast idle pull cable installed to get the proper AC voltage. This guy in the video is so amateurish, he did not even have the spade terminals on the field wires, just a no soldered wire loop. All of his output wires could not handle 90 amps since it looked like about # 12 ga. wires. I could not figure out the reason for this post at all. Hi DougWill do ASAP Spring has sprung here.Have to move everything out of the stone barn to spray urethane foam insulation on the inside of the steel roof 2 stories up. The foamers have to install scaffolds, and polyethylene sheeting, requiring everything out, and off the floor.Then the patchy concrete floor has to be broken up, foam laid down, re-rod, plastic tubing, and poured concrete if it is to be a year round workshop/studio.That means every machine and tool, work benches and shelves, sent to another barn, while this is being done.This move is a difficulty regarding my experiments as all the motors are very heavy, and need special care.This last winter was really impossible to work, yet even so, built the flywheel, and assembled many DC motors in one place but now have to move them again for several weeks.I will update as I am able.So far the experiments were done on the fly with ammeter, and multimeter and loving what I saw.
