GeorgeThe camera is located inside the cockpit What you are seeing is the reflection of the people inside when a light is turned on. Normally you try to shoot through the window with all cabin lights out or now, using wi fi cameras outside.No wifi back then.George I' ve had the Shuttle fly around the Earth and land at the Halifax airport in the rain, so the boys inside could have
the local beer called "Alpine" which they didn't have in Houston.I did everything except run the camera  and act in it.The planet Earth was a fibreglass 10' diameter sphere, very accurately painted using images shot from space, available at that time, as slides, from Edmund Scientific.The Shuttle model was built to scale and was about 3 feet long.We had to build the entire interior of the cockpit, complete with instruments, seats, space suits, and all. It was not easy, given how little time we had to do it. I have a copy of the commercial on 3/4" video tape and no way of playing it, along with boxes and boxes of old work on tape.It is every bit as good as that footage you gave us a link to, all shot in a film studio with a 35 mm Panavision, a better quality format than the astronaughts had available to them, I'll bet.George, there was no big enough reason to fake the news story, at that time. The Moose head breweries, Alpine spot was touted as the best studio footage in the World, at the time.Ego aside, there was not much talent on the planet to bid on these jobs that could match us. Back then, everybody knew everybody else, in the ad business.My little company up in Canada was the go to, place, for stuff "out of this world."So relax George, it is very likely real footage made from a bunch of stock clips.Cheers Warren
