Always a pleasant morning...

OK what are some good ways to harden an existing home:

what size mesh can one use to harden a basement area in order that
computers, gensets etc are safe?

what is the best way to create a decoupling from the power grid drop
into the house so it does not kill everything plugged in at the time, a
gas discharge across the 220 connected to another to a sunken ground rod?
