Geodesic dome detail

Hi HectorThis is the joint detail for, as memory serves, a thirty two foot diameter dome.In 1971 canadian dollars cost slightly more than 600 dollars using fir plywood and spruce 2X4s.They can be put together, and taken apart, to use as a ferro cement form, if well greased, I know of no other cheaper way to enclose space any stronger.If you need buildings, and have plasterers, steel mesh, sand, Portland cement, and fresh water, you can fabricate a structure.Substituting the mix water with a solution of Rhomeplex E330 will make it possible to daub on a teaspoon of concrete a day, with perfect adhesion, yet be 6 times stronger than normal portland . The Rhomplex is an acrylic plastic in  polymer solution with water, which forms strings between the crystals of concrete giving flexibility and tensile strength, as well as self skinning for curing the concrete.The Rhomplex patent has expired so it is available by other names almost everywhere, for modifying concrete.If you just want a cheap and cheery dome, the plywood ones that were built in 1971 are still certified safe as a children's summer camp park, and are still in use.Cheers Warren
