Solar to Battery's in much better than using a "Battery Charger" on AC as the Power Factor in low (wasted power) I got a Morning Star MPPT 60 Model TS-MPPT-60Now the fine print: This unit adjust itself very Fast of any the one's I have and would work best with changing voltageIt wakes up very fast and could be used for experiments. Max volts is 150 DC. I also have a Aimspower MPPT40 amp that screws around for many seconds to find best voltage, ovoid this one.. Now the best in my opinion is the Xantrex MPPT 150 max volts and 60 amps. You also need the Inverter XW6048 (Now called Schneider Electric Conext) good choice, it also has relays to control your AC or Heat-pump etc. Now Called: Conext XW+ 6.8kW 120/240 Volt Inverter 48V Charger. It's a Hybrid unit so it can also Sell to Grid! The entire system works very good. Each Solar Controller also has Programmable outputs the turn on a SSR (Solid State Relay) etc. Each SCC (SolarChargeController) can do a different function. Just make sure u turn off the "Cascading" in system settings First!Leave it off the Net, it has it's own network. Also the manuals are easy to understand! solar.schneider-electric.com They also make a SCC 600 volt DC input model output 80 amps. U can get a XW6048 system from altE: http://www.altestore.com or Northern Arizona Wind and Sun's website. On Sale right Now, save 1 grand! and read at: Northern Arizona Wind & Sun Solar Forum Store is http://www.solar-electric.com M
