It was a bit cave man brutal extraction of the coil unit from the housing using the hack saw then a chisel to pry open the cast aluminium housing. It turned out after examining the assembly, that they had press fitted the coil assembly into the extruded aluminium motor case housing.I could have pressed it out had I knownThat motor is likely toast in any event
Now, on to new adventures in wiring! What do I do next?Cheers Warren

You became a motor murderer ! nice core ! took people years to jump on the motor core bandwagon , maybe a few more to the complete frames but we are there ! its PM-EM RV multi-phase domain ...

next time saw the aluminum frame sideways then wedge it out .

prying it out ? requires tubular form and circular center hollow base and 10 tons to do it ....

Hi Warren
Whats the rotor like? Does it have windings on it or is it induction motor?
Save those stators....count the poles.....try and figure out the wiring pattern to it....Pierres is 36 poles but not necessary to be that exactly,
"1 and 6"recive a pulse, then 2 and 7 then 3 and 8 like that all the way around.. (Pierre's magic numbers) ..when the wires jump from 1 to 6 all the wires "underneath" (5 of them) become induced and "trapped" within and these induced wnds add poweri into the caps...no collapsing field since it "trys" to collapse but cannot!!! The magnetic field stays ON all the time around it never turns off.....there is overlap in the timing of pulses, so never a break..........anyways count those polse and plan a plan from there...
ITs possible to make your own "fixed rotor" too in fact could be better such as laminate steel Y shaped bar at 120 degrees and wind the fixed rotor winds over that...
 ciaoKone

The saw did the deedBut yes now that I know that that particular German manufacturer press fits their coils into the extruded housing I would use my hydraulic press.Like I said, cave man primitive, here in stone shop in 30 cm snow storm.Cheers Warren

Hi Warren, your photo speaks volumes. laughing.
I saw that you have 6 leads probably 3 phases. 3 wires will probably be clamped together in a star connection or in a triangle each connected to each.

What are you doing with that?

Do you want to remove the old windings and install many single windings distributed 360 degrees, as in the circuit shown?

regards

Sven

SvenDuh! I was thinking it might be what was being under discussion. I take it this is wrong? It this not the kind of motor that you were suggesting we use?It is a 3 phase 550 volt induction motor., as ordinary as can be, except for the extra bearing to support the worm.Cheers Warren
