Has anyone tried using water, such as in an ion water filter, as a battery/fuel cell?
Basically charged water without electrolyte added.
Maybe Norm or someone else who has worked a lot with electrolyser cells can answer if this simple model might work and if so the energy density or efficiency.
Single cell with Tyvek as the membrane to seperate the hydronium and hydroxide parts with their respective electrodes.
Maybe the tyvek could be double sided and hold some sulphuric acid in the center as an exchange medium.
The stability of the battery would probably not be good as water can not sustain oxidative states so it would be more of a fuel cell.
Would love to hear anyones experiences.
Has anyone tried to measure the differential of a water vortex in volts?
