i WarrenI had same problem with CNC's and had to go with rotary phase converters.Electram makes/sells them in Canada

But he would better off to just get a VFD. Lower operating costs, soft startand speeds. Rockwell Automation: I got two SP500's for up to 2 HP still working good.

or Amazon.ca has them
Good VFD's would better choice IMHO
