Ran over to Titusville to watch the launch yesterday. Had a pretty good view from 3-4 miles w binocs. Saw the liftoff, separation, re-entry burn but missed the touchdown due the crowd. 
 On another tip how did we ever manage to grow up without one of these?

On yet another tip I've  collected a 4magnet 4brush10 pole 500w Gramme wound motor with which I'm going to try Hector's multiphase outrunner generator scheme.
Norman.. when you referred to the mhd you were getting high voltages from, is that the (salt)water/magnet/ steel apparatus or something else? If its the same set-up Im thinking of I was wondering if you had to change the water between discharges or could the solution be recharged with additional salt. The idea being to get a steady output. You also mentioned scalability. Im all ears..

 Is George ok? Haven't seen any doomsday posts lately..
