Hector,

Is that antenna matcher any good, have you had a chance to give it your 
seal of approval or disapproval?

I thought it looked kinda cool myself but one never knows these days 
what is inside the slick looking box, like some women really sexy on the 
outside then the empty mismatched components often with unplugged modules.

Do you still have a working scope, or was all of your test gear lost 
from the storm?

Yes its quite cool for 120 to 512 mhz  not  so for HF low bands ,
but for emp survival i may prefer to go analog , they are cheaper on the long run ....and run on their own power 

sometimes a P.O.S  looking item can do the job fine , if what you worry about more is relative power to back reflected loss ... stay simple

 within my stash i have a hammeg scope have not tested it yet for water survival damage ....

the problem with hurricanes is they get everything damp and if equipment is susceptible to water intrusion most of the time you plug them they simply fail it takes a long time to dry out all the stuff ... and yes i lost some equipment that simply just went up in blue smoke ...(hidden water damage) 

we are having strange flashes of light here and after a few minutes huge explosions and power went out everywhere , so i am typing this a third time 
to see if i can post it before another EMP burst ....

Hector,

That probably has one of those weird ceramic variable caps or inductors, 
don't recall what they were with the metal tang lever and screw in the 
center to lever it up and down like the old Archer had with two of those 
things.

Else a proper balun variable cap.  I almost ordered that one but did not 
know if it had the upper range for the 2 meter and higher as it is 
designed for 11 I think.

For part of the tuning of an RV can one use a HV variable vacuum cap or 
is the Q not sharp on those?  Seems like one would be nice in the 
circuit if it would work optimally.

The EMP explosions are ominous.

What do you think is going on, some kind of war?
