It was very educational.
I thought it was a very nice piece of engineering, and tried to be as accurate as possible, right down to the gold mylar, and space frame lower stage, with monocoque upper stage.
Like the plans, mine had articulated shock absorbing legs.
The entire combined unit was super light weight, using best practice aircraft building techniques, familiar to aircraft home builders, and prototype builders, like me, having learned them in my night school courses, when pursuing building home built airplanes, in my spare time.
The lunar lander job was a fun job for me, as the producer well knew, before giving me the job.
