YouTube knows the language (Russian) and can auto translate it into English or other languages. He is making a transformer by putting a secondary coil on top of the primary coil of the induction stove. His coil is from an old Tesla patent where the coil is split in two parts to increase its parasitic capacitance. This makes it form a parallel LC-tank. According to the patent Tesla did this because capacitors weren't standardized in the degree they are now and were expensive. Thus using the wires as a capacitor would save an external capacitor.
It would be nice to see the efficiency of his transformer. That an appliance reads 1000W doesn't mean that it actually uses that power. This is the max power at the rated voltage and frequency that it uses. If the load is pure resistive then at half voltage the current is also halved and thus the power is only one fourth the power at nominal voltage. The video doesn't show the output voltage and frequency. The stove shows max 1600W output which limits the output to this value.

Inspite of this,I found that the 3 hp tread mill motor rectified, ran like a dremel tool at near 10,000 rpm scary gyroscope speed, when hooked to the tiny speaker wire I was using.
More needs to be understood about this induction pancake arrangement. It might be a winner.
