Hi Warren 
Two electric hand drills a sabre some hole saws and flat wood bits thsts it for power tools. 
I really like the Russian concrete float  tools here made of that lightweight urrethane foam it's very strong super easy to make amy  shape amd cut and glue thats the pink stuff in photos the motor coils are inside also timing disc on shaft too 
just need to make some holders For the hall effects next and this teady to go
The rotor in this one is mafe from the back of a round wall clock I got in tbrift shop in Vilnius Lithuania couple summers sgo it's Brown "herdboard: stuff bery strong and rigid,,,magnets glue nice and strong into it then  I coat it all with epoxy after  ..  I balanced rotor using your method of lead solder were it needs to.be heavier...bearings are some nice skateboard ceramic types ...axle is threaded steel rod and for  "fiber" washers and sleeves to make axle tight fit to the 8mm I'D (5/16) of bearings I use layer or two of masking tape soaked witb superglue works great bearings don't clack or have any free play to.them..
