James , you are trying to get some thing in the 40kHz range. Its been like forever since I have played.
I learned it all fast and am loosing it fast as its some thing that really needs repetitive time and efforts,
as well changes daily ,best to keep notes on these I find. Now a day I am down to an old fluke multi-meter.
With a scrap of wire copper for measuring amps. So I guess it would be size and time.
Its really just any and all. I never read Don Smith work so I do not know his principle.
I remember scanning some thing on him faintly. On quick glance and poor memory but I remember
a large device . It was a schedule when I was submerged in other projects.
As far as lighting needs I am going the easiest route with the best no maintenance percentile.
I had designed an led t8 in the rough in 2001. Shown it to some Chinese guys in TO.
Got a discount ! lol I did The New Roads GM dealership in MarkHam it looked sharp at night.

If you grab a t8 and disassemble it you will see a cascading application. Can go from 220
to as low as you wish.
If I remember correctly at all they run 97 volt min @ .300 ma to trigger it.
I do not remember the exact details any longer. Sorry

Bart:)

What project are you working on James?
Herbal teas are nice at the end of the day.

I've found that the ferrite magnet rings run the frequency down to much for my uses .I'm only looking for around 40khz .haven't done anything yet .today I had to clean up and fix my meter and just tired from all the attempts this week with little to show for it ..but will do better .

Hi James,
I have a perfect memory, just no retainer value! lol
It was also 2012-2013? I was working with the guy on over-unity.com<http://over-unity.com> .
Went to see him in South Carolina (another family trip) and helped he
in developing some advanced at the time lighting. I got a deal on used super caps
from Maxwell. So it was not really I only !
Problem was he has a case of clinical depression, communications were terrible.
He had over a million hits. He asked for me not to disclose his name.
He also kept in touch daily with Lasersaber
 https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCIKzUKkh7XtnSYPW0AJb-9w

But he was the guy I mentioned on other posts in the past about he and his uncle
working on circuits for the rover. This guy was amazing , he developed timers
to power themselves by means of adding elements and popping them in the
oven for specific time periods. Collecting any of all values and pumping them straight
back in. He liked the small ferrite magnet rings . Would wind one side maybe
10 wraps with 18-20 gauge and across from it 100 wraps 28-32 gauge.
He threw in a pot , I think 10k maybe? and scoped it. I remember doing calculations on a 3200ma
for time run expediencies.
Still have some in boxes some wheres and was going to dig them out.
Honestly I left my better lab top in Finland and will get it back at the end of May.
Its got a lot of past projects on it. In the mean time I will sift through
my grocery bags of thumb drives. Now a day its easier to just order from China really.
As well eye sight has become a struggle. This is now old , so there may be better
available now.

ant chip - YouTube<https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xzNfXcN8HNY>
chip the size of a piss ant runs 59 leds full bright. runs days to 0.15 vdc cutoff.amazing but near impossible to solder ..used smd to dip converter to use it.

So sorry not back to speed yet ,but working on it!

What Joule thief. Cross that ? I've recently been looking at them .and the ones with the core material don't get past 7 kHz it seen but a air core done like a normal straight coil form ? Well I got one going at 300 kHz .so I'm going to shorten it some and match it to several other wires then wind it .shooting for over 40 kHz then by using a 3055 on it and running it up to six volts I might get the out put at over 50 volts maybe much more .then use it in a don Smith energy extractor .with it resonance with the other wires the Joule thief being 1/4 wave length of the next coil then back down to the 1/4 wave length on the last two .to pull 12 volts from it .if this works it will be mostly coils and a 3055 no caps except the super caps at the end of the line .don used to do a sliding tuining coil in to coil system .brain dead simple way to hit resonance from coil to coil with out caps !! But here's the idea that came to me don gave us a way to tune the first two coils by sliding ! Well what will happen if the last coil was another slider ? Could we hit resonance with all three ??.I'm going to run some small test to see effect .the way you know you got resonance between the first and second coil is sparks though a spark gap .the third well maybe a light blub .don't know but with out resonance you got zip .

Finical ,so stable 100 with multiple apps perhaps! Really you could work this to any level!

You know if you had several in one steam and pumped the water up hill like a hundred feet the trip back could generate a lot of power though several generators coming back down ...a couple of old boys made a water generator that was like bucket's on a chain ...looked like a escalator but it held the water all the way down to the ground they said it can be used by people with a small stream .

Yes. Been around for hundreds of years.

They are also known as Thromp Pumps or Klack Pumps from the sound they make.........
I wrote about them at the link below. Took a Check-Vale apart and put
it together backwards as the compression valve.
Reset was a 4" drain pipe as feed and some 1.5" fittings with a 1.........5"
output pipe.

Flood destroyed mine. Moved so never rebuilt.

I did learn a Health Respect for compressed water and air!
Almost lost the fingers of my right had,
and almost had my head caved in by a pump that broke look when tried
to bleed off some air in the pipe.
