DougYou are very helpful.It is hard to grasp the concept of exactly where the energy is, and what form it is in, at any single moment in time.My specific challenge on hand, is to replicate, or make, a 10 KW generator to supply the energy needs of a small 20 foot sailing, canal, vessel, that I wish to power electrically, for the purposes of a practical experiment.It presently has a perfectly good rebuilt Yanmar single cylinder 6 hp diesel enginethat I recently installed.As luck, and happenstance occured, the Saint Lawrence River is on the other side of the road, and totally suitable for such a vessel to safely navigate among theThousand Islands, located in this part of the river.As you know, it is very hard to engage people's hearts, and minds, to the idea that energy may be simply free, as it represents such a milestone in human struggle.Besides, for a few of us, these nerdy videos, showing meters, dials, and very modest science fiction props, whirring away on a bench, could claim anything, but for the most part, just cause the eyes of the causal viewer to glaze over, and switch to something more interesting.I am not interested in marketing anything, except perhaps in the larger context of human survival on this planet, along with all the rest of the life forms that have emerged from the resources of this orb, we inhabit.It appears there are a few people so self centered, that they believe they are capable of enforcing ignorance on the rest of mankind simply to keep exploiting them.Along with diode plugs, motors, generators, and free running machines, these are also issues that must be addressed, so the bearers of these gifts, are justly treated to the acclaim, and kudos, they well deserve among their peers, as well as the general population, for their art, and creativity.Poor Tesla, is an example of being ground under the heels of some, powerful, industrialists, with a selfish little agenda.This outcome can be avoided much as Philip Dick did it, back in the McCarthy fifties, writing novels such as "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep" as parables, bringing the future into the present, much as Jules Verne did it in his time.So that brings me back to wanting to power a concrete boat through a canal to Ottawa with electricity, but no batteries needed.It is the most verdant, beautiful scenery in Canada, this little used canal, built in the 1820's. How fitting a location for a silent bit of mobile beauty serenely powering through the early morning mist of the pasture boardered lakes, lime stone locks, with cast iron, hand operated gears operating the gates.So it is a fancy of my old age to do this build, before unable to complete it, and enjoy its simple pleasures, sharing them with the World.Cheers Warren

Gary is using his samsung washing machine motor as both the prome mover motor, and also also as a generator through the hand wound pickup cpils he wound on the backside of the existing motor cpils in his samsung motor.
And yes those pancake washing machine motors make great generators all on their owm, ypu can rewire coil connections so all on series for HV or parallel some or all for lower voltages more amps
BUT
They will suffer fate of lenz law braking under loading of the coils killing evierything...unless you can find specific rpm range and loading resistance where the Thane Karl Heinz delayed lenz effect will happen
AND/OR
You construct like Gary did, a cap dischrage output circuit in bucket brigade/ two stage/ diode plug design so that the only load that the generator or induced pickup coils see or feel.is filling the caps, and Gary noted with the "fillng caps pulsing" function of his circuit you set when to fill caps to happen at peak voltage of primary pulse in case of pickup winds, to be or whatever peak voltage is for whatever rotating generato happens to be,.
He foynd very large caps cam be filled witb no extrs draw or reflaction to the prime mover or primary so its lenz free and Gary in recemt tests used circuit on both the ECM motor working as generator and also tbe induced pickup winds and worked great with eithe one.
