Back several years ago I put together one of Teslas' cosmic ray
collectors and simple escapement motors and it worked just as R. A.
Ford depicted in his book. The most interesting thing that I noticed
is that the capacitor connected to the elevated antennea or collector
accumulated a charge just the opposite that you wouldnormally
assume,that is a negative charge. My thinking is that the capacitor was
actually being charge from the earth with the elevated antennea
providing an opposite charge sink on the other side of the capacitor
plates. Sort of like Tesla trying to tell us that the real power of
the Tesla coil opperating at full resonance would be manifested in the
ground circuit of the coil with the elevated capacitance being mearly a
sink for the oscillations to occur. Remember that Tesla said that for
a Tesla coil to do any worthwile work that there should be no spark or
corona discharge at the upperterminal. If discharge did occur it is
mearly a waste of energy. Norm
