NormanOur average 6 ft down temperature is 54 degrees F I have been told.The neighbors across the road have soil that goes down deeper than mine, and use geo thermal, to great savings, with their heat pump.I have to map out the soil depth on the property, as that around the house is only 46"until you hit a solid plate of sandstone, pocked with funny round inclusions of igneous stones that look like eye balls in a socket. There is also a strata of limestone, in places, granite in others, with outcroppings here, and there, on the surface. We have a fair amount covered in tall bush, of hickory, maple, and wild cherry.Our neighbour to the North, grows corn and beans, on his deeper soil.Cheers Warren
