During right after the American revolution, people having a loyalty to the king, would be stripped naked, dipped in molten tar, rolled in feathers, and paraded around the villages on a fence rail, by good old boys, just having fun.Any others, feeling unsure of the future of the new revolutionary government, would, if they were lucky, sell their property for a shilling, or just pack up, and head North, to Canada, with their family, rather than risk a slow painful death by scalding.
Humans in a mob are capable of sadistic acts of cruelty. We have seen this all through history, motivated by some cause of the day. Worship of some diety, a political cause, a charismatic leader, and abandon all sense of decency, and kindness, to some momentary passionate ideology.It is a flaw.Embarrassment, and shame, are sure to follow, as a society, on sober reflection.Cheers Warren

And real cooperatives are voluntary and do not force people into it.  I think socialism always forces one to play and cooperatives are voluntary.  I like capitalism as long as it's not crony capitalism as it allows for humans to progress faster as individuals, cooperatives are not at odds with capitalism.  As parts of a whole of any kind if it is forced then it sucks donkey dick.  This is what the united states after Washington forced everyone to play their game.  A free inhabitant upon the land is the ultimate position to have, not part of some forced and taxed reality.
