I acquired the display piece from Stanford University Physics Dept. 
Linear Accelerator Lab, (SLAC) which was a Van de Graff 6 ft tall with 
chrome dome, rubber belt and all. I donated it to the Tesla Museum at 
Colorado Springs. I built all sorts of influence machines, Whinshurst, 
Holtz etc. Lot of fun experimenting with them. I never bought the theory 
of how they worked from High School Science Class.  Lots more going on
