As I see it Kapanadze is inputting pulses that he coheres as per Wilbert B. Smith's principle of inversion to get out more energy than spent on the input pulses.
The input pulse train is not added as when using superposition of waves. Instead the pulses are mixed in a nonlinear way to become coherent which represents more energy than when just adding the energy of the single pulses. He then removes the battery and feeds back some of the excess power to make the device a self-runner that also powers a load.
The two flywheels are coupled by a wire that locks them together in one direction while it unwinds in the opposite direction. One thing I don't know is to which of the flywheels the load is coupled. Is it connected to the driven flywheel or the 'rectified' flywheel? Perhaps both flywheels ram up on the load while the impulse motor also supplies a pulse?
After all Kapanadze also succeeded in making electronic self-runners.

I see the two discs that could be monopoles. I found difficulty connecting the generator motor to the main shaft.

Yes almost. At least it's being done with homopolar motors without actually reversing the rotation to a new speed up. Homopolar motors are the Faraday disc type of motor which is a DC motor or generator of very low impedance. The homopolar motor is spun up to full speed over some time and then braked at full current in very short time. This gives a pulse of very high current.

Tariel Kapanadze uses powerful pulses in his mechanical free energy device. It's a very noisy phenomenon like fast hammer blows. An analogy would be a falling ball hitting the ground and bouncing back with almost the same speed that it hit the ground. The ball has the mass and speed of the rotor with perhaps a flywheel. The rotor won't decelerate at the same speed as reversing the magnetic field rotational direction. But it will try to do it the best it can like if the bouncing ball was an elastic basket ball deforming and then getting back to its spherical shape. A hard steel ball is elastic too but in in a stiffer way than an air filled ball.
I only see an idea in pulses if free energy can be released like in what Kapanadze does. He has two flywheels and an impulse drive. With only one flywheel it would be like a ball only returning to its initial height after bouncing. For free energy it must bounce back higher than its initial energy. Kapanadze's device (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3thvqFhFIfY https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3thvqFhFIfY) involves impacts from the impulse drive to two different masses where one is connected to the load.

Let us consider how to conceive a motor that gets to speed, and then reverses, capturing all that current, then runs the other direction to hit full speed, then reverses.
Somehow, I am sure someone must have tried this, faced with some motor drive of something.
I had to build a full sized aluminium man who could break dance to music for an artist. I was supplied the servos by the artist who was an early pioneer of machine programming, and had matched his very expensive, at that time, permanent magnet chopper driven servos, to his prototype driver boards. I looked at the weenie shafts, and said "no way can these handle the torque, splined or not"
Sure enough they didn't even lift the honey comb aluminium arm, the motor shearing off its own shaft, with tremendous torque, that that little motor in chopper mode produced.
I know it is not the same phenomena you are pointing out, it is really about the positive aspect of a very unpleasant mechanical event, we often would rather forget than exploit as a discovery, and make use of.
20 times the current indeed!

Look at the currents. The switch contact points have to carry perhaps 20 times the running current. If they don't have low resistance they're welded or vaporized as the dissipated power is proportional to the current squared. Thus if the current is 20 times greater than normal the power dissipation is 400 times greater than normal. If the contacts bounce the formed plasma may dissipate even more power as the resistance becomes greater while the current stays the same.

Very good info about the EMP. I've had quite a few experiences with it over the years. The last one was with a refrigeration unit being installed by other contractors in a supermarket food store and it blew up the lightning protection unit in the main Switchboard. We got the blame and we could not convince the owner otherwise and he didn't want to pay for our work of installing the lightning protection unit. Most times it has happened in my experiences has been associated with refrigeration and air conditioning systems. I did see something unusual with large motors in an off mode turning backwards in a brick-works when the metal detector stopped the motors of the feeding conveyors into the pan mixer. You do see some weird things sometimes and you go away scratching your head.
