Hi MickRick was quite sincere, and had to work around John's self defeating sense of paranoia. John certainly suffered occasional bouts of mental illness, when Bart, and I visited with him for about four days.He would be his solid self, logical, and down to earth, then take flight as if green aliens were after him, in conversation.I sure hope it was not me sending him to those dark places, by Bart, and I, visiting. John's brother would keep John out of the mental bushes, I think.Rick is a very sensitive sort who was good for John, but John would have issues.
Health care in the US is not cheap, if you are self employed, plus there are stigmas attached to mental health problems, so it seems the general level of care is poor, in small communities like John lived in.On top of that, there might have been bad experiences, John may have had with bad people, I once read.John had a profound knowledge of electronics, and semi conductors right from the basic ingredients, to designing circuits, and a great mind, working well beyond the box.We had a cordial and candid visit, and got along on many levels including his '32 Ford coup.I supported Rick with the boat project, as it was an area I have been interested in.I helped Rick some time before, with doing an energy show, in Upper State NY featuring John Bedini's work, and teaching folks how to wire muffin fans as  motor generators.Cheers Warren

Rick said Johns brother knew nothing about electronics not John.  I spoke to Rick for a couple hours a few months back, some of what he told me was intriguing about his and Johns falling out.  Rick said he came up with the idea of the large multicore kits and John agreed but left Rick mostly on his own to build them.  Everything was hunky dory until Rick built the boat with the electric motor and Bedini charging system, this according to Rick of course.  He said John had said to him in passing prior be careful don't build anything too big but just in passing never with any sort of urgency.
 
Rick built a boat and was giving people rides and he said it is after that point John became unfriendly to him and while before he was treated with respect and golden afterwards he was the brunt of Johns many jokes and insults.  He said had he understood the building something bigger was really a serious warning not to he would not have but he always took it as the sort of running line like the boogieman will come.  He said the point of him breaching any rule or guideline was never discussed afterwards only the daily surliness of John to him was apparent.  Rick said this was his best guess of the transgression but he could only interpret by time and action, not a direct reprimand.
 
So this is the story from Rick who seemed to me sincere and much kinder a person than the few times I spoke to John on the phone back in the 80's after I told him I was a recording engineer he became ultra short and snitty.
 Not claiming John was lacking as a great teacher and resource or in any way clouding his memory just reporting the facts as best I am aware.  As one can imagine after a long chat there were many other facets but perhaps another time.

Sure do! It has been having myself reflect on things over the years. Whats it been ten now I think?
 
I kept John busy while you were up stairs going through builds with Rick! lol
 
John and I must have smoked a pack a day . Once Tom Beardon called, John put him on speaker , all I said was hi! lol
 
It was when John was coming out with his ten coiler and was nervous about his security, I offered he, Gary and Tom to sell them in Canada.
 
Tom thought it was a good idea.
 
 
But Rick put the brakes on it. I think Rick said he has his parents in Mississauga or some wheres . Rick recently released a video stating John new nothing about
 
electronics. I will try to find it if you have not seen it. I did buy Ricks run charge circuit and modified it with some coil bangers. I managed to get 850 volts and 40 - 8o amps.
 
Out of a 12 volt lead acid. Then my shop got broken into. The older retired electronics engineer Keith had helped me with it.
 
I asked John about Ron Cole I think was the name of the fellow whom had a battery run cold and at 17.5 volts or some thing.
