Kone will be the most knowledgeable on this subject of solid state
switching of the push- pull solenoid as depicted in this set up. All
solid state switching modules such as IGBT, SCRs, transistors etc have
built in self protection snubber diodes to shunt to earth ground the off
state switching HV spike energy. Now Doug would eliminate the SHUNT
DIODES and install sterring diodes and collection capacitor net work the
provide a much more efficient system.
