It has been snowing
steady, after -16C for several days.
The
dry dock finally was flooded today to allow boats in for the
winter. I can't remember it being so cold this early in
the season.For
the very first time, the John Deere diesel only let out a
groan when I turned the key. Lucky for me the tug boats were
standing by, ready to tow me from the river, into the dry
dock. Even the toilet was frozen.The
dock lines were frozen stiff around the cleats, and acted
more like metal rods, and coil springs, than soft polyester
braid.All
one wants to do is have a hot drink of tea, and warm
one's hands and toes.The
roofers are supposed to come on Tuesday, to begin to put the
new metal roof on the big barn. Argh!Amid
all this, my thoughts are on Norms words about lenz free
generators.We
also await news of that system Kone has been monitoring
based on washing machine pancake motors. If ever there was a
need to provide energy, and warmth, it is upon us for
another Northern hemisphere winter.Although
Hector must do penance, during hurricane season, it is all
bonus now, in Puerto Rico.I
hope he can give us a thought, as he basks in warm gentle
trade winds, and sunshine.
