MickWhat do we get from the old Ford Model T coil? It is 6 volts into, like a door bell buzzer switch, then primary, and secondary, producing a very hot spark, which I have never been able to see the nature of on a scope that I value. It is about 10,000 volts, judging by the length, and hot enough to ignite a sheet of paper put between the gap.Although I haven't performed surgery on one yet, I believe there may be an oil paper wrapped capacitor in there too.Now, in the vein of keeping the device simple, what happens when we rectify this high voltage "unknown" spark source? This reliable high voltage DC source of pulses should be able to be applied to an inductor which in turn, should certainly disturb the local magnetic field, one might imagine.
We then get dangerously close to the Don Smith rabbit hole, where none of us has gone down yet.Ole might be peeking in the back door of that realm, with his new inverter?It seems that the rythmatic tapping on the magnetic field can resonate with a coil of wire of a certain length, in an amplified manner, again rectified, to produce usable electricity.All of this must be put inside a Faraday cage, lest we bring down the demons, sent out to find why cell phone coverage is suddenly not happening in an area.The T coil can be adjusted mechanically with adjusting the buzzer point gap, changing the frequency slightly.Cheers Warren

It's much easier that way you are correct just investigating both concepts of AC and DC circuit harvesting. When harvesting RF if one desires to pull DC the old fashioned way Tesla did it the timing is important as one goes up a even harmonic or two to pull of the compression or refraction only.
AC version and the more difficult system I think has it's uses in the more esoteric weird shit Hector talks about because if one stays in the AC realm one can induce feedback to dance with the devil and friends.

Just my measly two cent opinion but the capcitor "could" hold a charge rather than dancing back and forth with inductor if the capacitor has its charge rectified first which I believe is whole idea of diode plug and cap is timed to discharge into load too so there is power being created not just observation of resonance...
