by the way whats the model of the radio you can convert from DC to light beam frequency .. in all modes LOL !

Ham radio people were the ones who invented the repeater concept, using shitty line of sight FM frequencies nobody else was able to find a use for.
My HF 735 was opened up to tx everything from" DC to light" as the tech who cut the diodes told me.
ICOM made the same unit for every use and just blocked out diodes for specific buyer groups.
The labels were different, but inside was all the same....except the diodes, blocking illegal frequencies.
My unit, as I am a ham, worked fine.
Because it was going overseas in my boat, it was nuts to have several same units, but only allowed certain frequencies on one, or the other.
I was willing to go to court on that one.
In distress, you are allowed to use any means of communicating necessary, to save life, and vessel.
Aviation, marine, even the AM commercial radio bands!
I had a marine schedule with friends in Fiji, and The Galapagos, while in the Caribbean, using my ham sideband. It worked fine, as long as the antenna was correctly tuned.
The Russian fishing fleet can burn you off the air on ham bands, with their wide open 3000 watt tube type sets.
I was only squeaking away on my little 100 watt ICOM, and would get totally flooded out by fishermen talking to their families back home in Russia, illegally on ham frequencies.
Ham radios are way cheaper than commercial sets, and they hook up giant linear amplifiers to them.
You sure can't beat tubes for brute force.

what it means ? all modified radios are illegal ..
this little directive makes nearly 100% of all radio amateur repeaters illegal to operate .... most of them are made from commercial radio units ..
yep ! another huge fuck from our government !
