George!  Funny that you brought this up, for I bought a Sony XBR 3D TV 
and set it up.  At night I would dose off while watching the TV and was 
awakened by the TV switching off.  After asking about how this worked, I 
was told that there is a camera that detects your eyes closing for an 
established time period that triggers the turn off of the set.  Same 
with the eyes to screen distance warning! it watches just how far your 
eyes are from the screen and triggers a hazard warning chime!
