On discones

I got one sent from Canada as a gift  a harvest 130  and bought a second one  a tram 1411

I modified the harvest  to take a long 3/8- 24 threaded rod and can use any standard or complex whip with it  , will use a 11 & 10  meter  whip 

will also modify the tram one as is sensitive to water intrusion and failure 

idea is to be able to use The TYT 9800 in its full spectrum capability eliminating the design failure flaws that will end burning it ,,,, 

today's antennas are a bunch of crap , junk ,  not to mention the radios ! 

currently i had not set up base , using portables at the time ....

its evident i will have to make my own antennas , thinking in ISS and satellite

my time is real tied up lately .... 
 

on the networking comments you need to deepen your knowledge base 
as to work solutions on the specific things you want to work in , in data, time is the key and if you don't regulate the specific phase shifting in your antennas and feed-lines you will be screwed big time , you will have a mess of a QRM crossover problem .. ( try building an oscillator frequency  entangled toy radio walky talky pair) you can talk & listen on the same entangled phased signal  , distance and placement is critical .. de-phasing the audio avoids feedback .. ( then apply to network enhancement )

I tend to run away from WIFI and 5G even being able to work WIFI 40 miles .
