DougI have a Milwaukee screw gun like you mention.It is very good, and never fails.What I am saying, is there is a new kid on the block with these Dewalt little plastic toys, so tiny, it is hard to take them seriously, until you do a day's work with them.I like the Milwaukee with the dry wall screw automatic release as a rugged piece of gear. You rarely have to remove a drywall screw once in as it gets muddled over anyway.We put up an industrial show in Las Vegas back in the mid Eighties at Comdex for Omni Magazine, a "room of the future" on a 30'x30 raised stage. It was delivered from Toronto as a pile of spruce 2x4's and plywood , making the union carps snicker and poke each other in the ribs with their elbows next door, at the neighbouring booths.Most companies spent at least half a million bucks on a booth that size, with very fancy snap together fittings.When we arrived with our Robertson screws and little Makitas they didn't know what the neighbours were up to. Our "set" was designed by an Argentine Architech, I hired as an art director, and the whole "stage" was prefabricated in the manner of summer traveling theatre that they did in Canada, back then, on zero budget. However, from those very humble materials, a glitzy room of the future morphed into one of the best booths in the show, getting Omni Magazine three million a year in IBM advertising, and having us screw it together in New York, and Atlanta, Comdex shows.This was a crazy deviation from our film making making, all started by me answering the phone in my office to a caller from Florida, asking " how much for a room of the future?"to which, I replied with the questions " how big of a room, and how far in to the future?"as we had been doing science fiction films,  it was a normal request.Ah, screw guns!We should keep in mind what is happening with the brushless dc motors and super magnets with our device designs. I might also rethink the concept of batteries after you having the experience with those Dewalt lithium systems. Over unity is a concept we strive for.Reality is fast approaching that border, with on the market tools.It is a combination of ideas that wi likely be successful when it happens.Cheers Warren

The screws Warren mentions are not hex or Phillips they are square holes to insert the square bits into...t they really are the best as near impossible to strip, and if you have to pull them out and re do they Zip right out can be used again and again ...alll decent carpenters working with wood use them up in Seattle area, they are a Canadian invention...
I prefer Milwaukee screw guns, and still like long electric cords for better torque never batteries to charge ...i was union carpenter, metal stud framer. drywall hanger for a few years and would also go through maybe thousand screws in 8 hour shift. zing zing zing have to be fast or you.get a freeway job (you're down the road). electricians always in our way!
