 Very explosive (or implosive?) it can be, short circuiting an energized generator coil, or a DC pulsed coil too (just before saturation it gets shorted)  if that is what you are looking for to happen....one way to control the effects of the coil-shorting (at sinewave peak) is to make it happen in a very short pulse width....lets say if 60hz AC, only a half-millisecond on-time to the short circuit as example...
 Another way to keep it under wraps is to put an AC cap in series on one of the AC legs of the FWBR that eventually fills up the caps with its DC side.
 UF value of cap decide "how much gets through" ....
 The whole idea is to make this extra energy and voltages that fill upcollector- capaictor to NOTreflect back to primary, or input draw to the system (similar to lenz law braking in a generator)...as what good does it do if you get so much more voltage and joules lurking in a capacitor. and to achieve this, you have now made the system draw twice as much power, or ten times more the input power...so you want it to be "non-reflective" as Hector would call it,
 Besides the fact you get maxium voltage into caps when you choose to short right at the peak period, also this is the time when it will not cause any or very little reflection back to the input draw or primary.....as it happens right at the peak where the :see-saw" cares little if there is a braking or lugging effect going either way...
 There will be a perfect pulse width to the short circuit, and if you want, a perfect UF value to the series cap too...I left the series cap out of my solid state bidirectional mosfet circuit, as it is not so much needed just as long as you keep pulse width short....however could be combination of bit longer pulse width to get more ringing into caps, and slight filtering with AC series cap might be very best but I don't know....
