DougIt matters, I think, which leg of the fwbr is placed on positive, because otherwise, the voltage just goes right through the rectifier from the source rather than coming from the arcs and sparks of the commutator.I am reluctant to name the cause of this energy, until we fully understand it.However, it is most certainly there, in addition to the energy you provide with your battery, or power source.I love the utter simplicity of the set up, and am planning a giant group hug with all my DC motors, assembled in one place, just to see how crazy impressive this energy can become.Thank you for the tip regarding those ultra fast diodes. It would be nice to mount them on heavy duty terminal strips.I would like two rows of the terminal strips spaced exactly a comfortable distance apart to place the diodes across like rungs in a ladder. It is a huge advantage to see each individual diode, and be able to run the laser thermometer over them checking how they are doing. Many components have quality control issues right out of the bag.It is a shame to get bad results just because of a dud diodes, and making false assumptions about poor performance.Where do you buy your diodes?I am now way back in rustic Ontario, half a day's drive from my usual suppliers. However, the mail guy drives up our long drive to deliver packages( likely out of curiousity to see what the new people are doing to the property beyond the big maple trees)Rock and timber are my lot in life this summer. Hauling stone, and gravel. Making a steel rock hopper with hydraulic dumped, tapped into the hydraulics of the John Deere tractor, that pulls it.My home made rock grabbing claws are working perfectly on the Catepillar excavator, making it a precision robot arm, capable of 500lb rocks, lifting them up to place them for mortaring into the walls. The posts and beams are going together very quickly using the steel plates I had bent up at my local welding shop. They charge me just for the price of the steel, which is half that in Toronto, and include shearing and bending on their giant machines! We drill all the holes, and use these nifty TimberlockSent from Yahoo Mail on Android

Hi Warren
Your daisy chain of PM brushed DC motors very successful experiments with AC side of FWBR across motor A brushes and DC side of FWBR feeding next motor B at its brushes and so on down a line of DC brushed motors U think could be me more spectacular with not standard FWBRs but instead 4 of the the new 50A 400V hyper fast diodes they sell now, which is going to leave nothing behind in the transfer from one to other.
Perhaps the inherent backemf forces locked into magnetic field by nature are allowed to manifest and transfer because of the FWBR instead of the usual single steering diode most people will do,since it works bringing out the flyback spikes already and is common way to do it....maybe something more happens of great significance with FWBRs..
Also more advanced is have double commutators on motor A and commutators #1 works normally bit commutaor #2 becomes a switch to connect motor A to motor B but commutators #2 is used as 2nd switch to delay about 5 degrees ( like echo) connection of one of the AC legs of FWBR and then adjust this timing to findb sweet spot.
Motor A should drop down in amp draw and motor B will have even more power and speed.
