MickThere was oh so little chance of taking that module to the moon with three men in it, and getting them back to Earth alive, true.No union health, and safety, regulations would approve it now.It is just a crazy, far out notion even to attempt such a feat.The numbers are there.There is very little wiggle room for screw ups. All those guys absolutely knew the slim numbers involved, yet were completely gung ho on putting their individual lives on the line to try it.Brave! No matter what nation, or resources behind it. To actually focus enough of the collective resources to do such a nutso thing as landing people on the moon! How fucking crazy is that?That was a time when the closest the averge guy got to the sky was with the tail fins on his Dodge.Taking the physics right to very edge, and putting it on the line, believing those numbers, with precious little else, except some experiments...Has got to be as crazy as believing in some fantastic vision of after life, ruled by mythical supreme beings. What brazen conflicts to overcome!We are ruled by our own confused sense of individule reality, attempting to put it all together, both lies, and fact, like some mystery novel.It seems to be very fashionable now to believe in presidents.Ha,ha.Who could ever take one seriously?Being the"leader" has been changed from a responsibility figure, to a comedy act.
The simple fact is... most of us are lazy as shit. We don't have time to get involved in politics, or even planting a tree in the local park. We hire these guys.It becomes an exercise in, you just don't get what you Pay for.We have become creatures who just pay for things we want.You take X amount of money and pay someone to do things for you.It gets very tricky when it comes to making decisions where the white lines go on the highways, but someone does that for you. You rarely have to think about it.Somebody says you need a vacuum cleaner, you just nod your head and get one. You rarely make one yourself.Government has become much the same way, even though democracy(sorry to use that much abused name) was invented by activists who thought they would participate.As soon as someone else was in charge, the rest would wash their hands of it, and let him , or her, fill their boots.Now when we get some goof in power, we all bitch about it, as the lazy bastards that we are.To then create some fantasy that there are super beings out there in charge is nonsense in our heads. Even those 1 % ers are scared shitless the gig will be up at anytime because we haven't discovered their power is in our heads.We could have trust busting rules in a heartbeat if it occured to us all at once.They would have no more power over you than your cousin Larry.What we are and what we can do is largely in our heads, where ever we can find them, (when not in close proximity to someone's genitals)So men on the moon? Going to the moon and back on one 3 stage hydrazine rocket in the 60's about as slim a chance as Karen Carpenter.
