OK GEORGE WHAT YOU SAY COUNTS A LOT BECAUSE I'M STILL ALIVE SO I MUST HAVE AT LEAST 5FT LEFT!!!!
I  EAT alot of raw vegetables and I organic garden&eat out of my garden year round so IT'S ALL GOOD .THANKS FOR THE INFO

Sorry to hear about your health problem mate.Because our small intestine is what absorbs most of the nutrients from our food, then if you lost the entire small intestine you would have to be fed intravenously.Have you lost all of your small intestine?  Your small intestine is 20 feet long Werner, and most surgeries that remove part of the intestines would try to keep as much of the small intestine as possible. If you retained about 5 feet of it you should be able to absorb enough nutrients to survive.I've not been confronted by anyone with this problem mate, so I haven't gone into it.
The easiest nutrients to absorb are raw fruit and fruit juices.
