If you have lots of firewood would a steam driven generator work? You could use the floor piping to condense thesteam temp back down, to under 180 F and piston pump it back into boiler. That could be a small 12 volt motor-triplex pump,with small pistons for great pressures.
I'm thinking about this also..

Hi guysA little off topic, but just sharing my day, I have removed the entire North wall of the big Barn, excavated the foundation, such that it is, scarfed in a new bottom section of the mid post, and now am angling in a limestone slab to support the post.Right now the barn is supported on a 20 ton hydraulic jack. No hernias yet.It will be good to get the barn restored and straight.The board and batten rough sawn pine should be soon ready to pick up at the saw mill. My tackle is a test, to lift up 30 6"x6"×20' pine beams, high into the upper section of the barn, for work on the roof.This barn was built sometime in the 1850'sI have lots of need for off grid energy.I am toying around putting in a concrete floor with heating tubes inthis barn as well.Even if it can keep it above freezing, it will be a bonus in terms of comfort.With the new roof, why not thermal solar panels?Now if I can only figure out how to best exploit a very solid concrete silo 36 feet high, and about 20 feet in diameter?Cheers Warren
