Hi Sven,

One can visualize the saturation in the core by a strong pulse on the scope, so that one gets a clue."
Or the magnetic hysteresis can be measured (https://meettechniek.info/passive/magnetic-hysteresis.html https://meettechniek.info/passive/magnetic-hysteresis.html) to see at what current the saturation begins. Yet another way which can be dangerous for the meter is to use an inductance meter (LCR-meter) and measure the inductance at different DC currents on a different winding. When the direct current saturates the core the inductance drops off. If the current changes while the L-meter is connected a current (and voltage) is induced directly into the meter leads. If the DC connection is broken at some current that current has to continue by changing the voltage to the value fitting the new impedance. As the impedance of the now open circuit is very high the induced voltage also is very high. This will likely break something inside the inductance meter as the voltage is induced at the secondary too but stepped up or down in the ratio of the windings.

Regards
Ole

an over-unity coil is attained as

s saturation point in joules AVS ampere volt seconds for maximal magnetic tensor .. maximal current at N volts P

then

collapse of field in Ampere volt seconds were time volts and ampere feed into a captive accumulator were ambient temperature & electron noise transduces to electron potential within the collapse charge, stochastic resonance applies , electron EASER also applies ..

the tendency of this to happen enhanced is in using low magnetic Remanence hi saturation metal cores ( iron thunderbolt )

i have stated MU metal is one item ( speaker magnet metal end caps ) as other sources are $1000 per pound of the stuff if you test them you will see they don't retain any magnetic field and have an extremely hi magnetic saturation point else the speakers fry in no time !

other is transformers coils and cores ....
