DarrellI have been told by old workers at the plant(hard to believe it could be so) thatthe Hiroshima and Nagasaki bombs were produced with materials proccessed in Port Hope Ontario, a charming little village on Lake Ontario, where during the war, they made the glowing radium pigments for aircraft instruments. I know one of the waste products was dumped in the harbour, plutonium, which when they got an order for, from US armaments makers, they dredged the harbour and refined the tailings to meet that order.After those pesky environmenalists got interested, it put a kybosh on the whole secrets thing. And heck, everybody knows everybody else and there really are no big secrets, just sort of hush, hush, nudge nudge, wink, wink....but it gets out sometimes over a few beers.
