Hi Hector,

The washing machine motor must have had a bad power factor when running without any load?

This figure is copied and pasted from here: http://www.the-power-factor-site.com/Motor-Power-Factor.html http://www.the-power-factor-site.com/Motor-Power-Factor.html

The rotoverter then balances out the inductive current with an equal and opposite capacitive current which is actually resonance. I.e. the inductive reactance equals the capacitive reactance but of opposite sign and leaves the impedance at only the real part which is the resistance of the wires (and mechanical load on the rotor). When being a parallel LC-tank https://wiki2.org/en/LC_circuit#Parallel_LC_circuit the supply current is small while the current between the reactive parts (inductance and capacitance) can be great. This gives a normal powerful field in the motor without taking reactive power from the supply. The reactive power is maintained by the parallel LC-tank formed by the motor winding and capacitor. The stored energy oscillates between those two parts as reactive power.

Regards
Ole

power factor was unity (1) no VA just pure Watts .. kill a watt adjusted & read

the reason for the EM ( rotation locked) PF adjustable , non saturating
rotary field = less loss ( read EVgray patent )

the PM 40 phases design was for making a non saturating super heavy duty no need to capacitor rectify overlapping sine pulse generator
