Body

Hi Sven,

The capacitor named buffer and the parallel inductor making up an LC-tank will never get current through it unless the 15uF capacitor(s) is (are) reverse polarized.

The variable inductors will limit the current from the source but they won't limit the discharge current from the 15uF capacitors through the SCRs.

Suggestion: Put the top SCR between the common center tap and the top push-pull half. That way both triggering circuits can be made exactly the same way and the SCRs have the loads at the anode side which prevents a floating gate circuit. The gate signal is referenced to the cathode end of a SCR. The SCR triggers when the gate voltage reaches the triggering voltage threshold (something like 0.7V). The gate circuit then monitors the top ends of the two 15uF capacitors.

Regards
Ole

 Hello Ole,

I have again created a new drawing. I think that may have added value. So you could stop the flow of energy for a short time to erase the thyristor, I need only a short peak that provides for a short balance so no current flows to turn off. I appreciate your opinion and ideas.

Hi Ole, here again my thoughts on the change of the problem.

 Maybe you have some ideas.

   Hello Ole,

I thought so too. At low inductances, the problem does not occur because the energy does not seem to be stored that much. You could increase the load as this reduces the energy that can flow back

I seem to have a time problem, the energy would have to be stored only between so that the discharge capacitor can fall to the cut-off voltage.

You could use free-wheeling diodes directly at the transformer then the current recirculating diodes I think about.

Or you may install on the variacs in parallel capacitors that absorb the energy for a moment. I make a drawing of the Buck plug circuit with any meaningful improvements.

 regards

 Sven
