Hi Warren, that does not reflect to the source is not that hard you just have to shortly after the max. switch to peak. About the dimmer circuit with 2 capacitors and 2 pots in each case as in the drawing I posted that goes pretty well. Set all potentiometers to minimum, so ignite early and start adjusting and turn the ignition on until the system becomes uncontrolled as you saw in my movie. The problem it does not stay reactive because there are irregularities that provide for active power, so I imagine that. In a resonant circuit, the energy is always perfectly reflected. If that is not the case, I have to apply additional energy to maintain the resonant circuit. I see this soon as insoluble, at least for me, since I do not have the financial means to buy so many capacitors until I found 2 Identical the 0.003 deviation from Hector is quite violent. I set a voltage across a Variac 50Hz AC source and measured the current in mA, and then calculated the impedance and capacitance in μF. Since I could get 3 digits behind the comma results. I recorded everything in a neat way and labeled and listed the capacitors. Then I made combos out of the capacitors and I could really achieve very accurate values since I had 14 capacitors of the same type. The problem, I have again measured another day and again received other values with partly 8 to 10 mA deviation and in the calculation, the 0.003 were long exceeded again.
To measure with an LCR meter is absolute bullshit, the commercials only show garbage. I do not want to say that there are none that are exact, but they are certainly not for a private person to pay. But in the inductance I have a deviation of 500% I do not need such a device then.
