Sounds fascinating but I am misunderstanding something.

I thought your Siemens synchronous motor is a PMSM rather than a BLDC or 
is this another motor alltogether?

So you have a 3 phase induction motor with a 3 phase VFD driving a 
synchronous motor as a generator but setup in RV mode?

How is the Variac used?

I know you have too much and all this can be overwhelming but have a 
look at the Ron Brandt video with the scope if you can spare some time.
