Hi Ole, I always thought the memory depth only indicates how long is recorded before being overwritten again, one learns again and again. 8 bit but have all scopes in the price range. I hope to see the superpositions of the waves as in the MRA of standards. The Fr transformer is supposed to create several new waves harmonic etc. When turning on the thyristors or flyback of the inductors. The Hps50 could be that's very spartan to these devices. Thanks for the tip with the larger memory depth with the ending bmv greetings Sven

Hi Sven,

The other Hantek DSO5062BMV at the same price has double the memory depth meaning twice as much details of the recorded signal. This makes it possible to zoom to finer details along the time axis. This is good for looking at ringing during voltage steps or looking for transient spikes without having to change the range of the time sweep. The 8 bit vertical resolution is low giving hardly 3 fully digits of resolution. This is about the same as an analog oscilloscope though.

Switching a square wave represents high frequency if using the speed of MOSFETs to generate the signal. This causes high frequency ringing in the circuit if not made carefully. This can be studied when having enough resolution.

For pure sine waves the high resolution is not be necessary. Transients won't reveal themselves then and they can be hard to catch by just changing sweep range unless they come at the same time relative to the trigger point or the trigger circuit is fast enough to catch them.

Regards
Ole

Hello Ole,

There Will Be More and More Powerful Devices Tektronix is already a name for quality. I would like to take pictures for my 50 Hz technique which I use and maybe things in the Khz area.

I just found that Hantek is a fairly often sold device and the current clamp that the dealer offers makes measuring really easier, I always have to install the measuring shunt somewhere. This clamp can be DC / AC
